Potremmo tuttavia avere una sorta di ufficializzazione con l'assegnazione del premio Hugo, i riconoscimenti presentati dalla World Science assegnati al meglio della fantascienza e del fantasy direttamente dai fan.

Nella categoria 'Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form' ecco la nomination del Signore degli anelli: il Ritorno del Re, insieme a quelle di Alla ricerca di Nemo, La maledizione della prima luna e XMen-2.

Quest'anno la cerimonia si terrà a Boston il 4 settembre in occasione della quarta Noreascon (la 62 Worldcon).
