La Mythopoeic Society, associazione no-profit dedita allo studio della letteratura mitopoietica - in particolare le opere dei membri del circolo letterario oxfordiano "Inklings", ha annunciato qualche giorno fa i finalisti del Mythopoeic Awards 2014: è presente Umberto Eco con il saggio Storia delle terre e dei luoghi leggendari (2013, Bompiani).

Il premio si articola in più sezioni: 

Il Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Adult Literature  viene conferito a un romanzo fantasy, una saga di più volumi o una storia autoconclusiva pubblicata durante l’anno precedente e che esemplifica al meglio lo spirito degli “Inklings” (il gruppo di studiosi cui facevano parte, tra gli altri, Tolkien e Lewis)

Il Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature riguarda i libri dedicati ai giovani lettori nella tradizione di Lo Hobbit o Le Cronache di Narnia.

Il Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Inklings Studies è assegnato ai libri su J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis e/o Charles Williams che apportano significativi contributi alla conoscenza degli "Inklings".

Il Mythopoeic Scholarship Award in Myth and Fantasy Studies è dedicato ai saggi che prendono in esame altri specifici autori della tradizione degli "Inklings" o a lavori di più ampio respiro sul mito e sulla fantasy,
